Telephone Calls
Doctors do not take calls from patients whilst consulting. Please leave a detailed message with reception, and your doctor will return your call after consulting – either at lunchtime or at the end of the day. You may also email your doctor and they will endeavor to reply as soon as possible. Please do not email urgent requests as we cannot guarantee an immediate response.
Prescription Requests
We are obliged, by law, to see our chronic patients every 6 months. Please provide our receptionist staff with specific details of the medication needed, and also where you wish to collect the script. Please allow at least 24 hours for repeat prescriptions requests to be processed. Telephonic consultations and prescriptions require medical expertise and responsibility and therefore a fee may be levied for this service.
Appointments
Reception is open from 8:00-17:00 Mon-Friday
Consultations 08:30-16:00 Monday to Friday
Saturday mornings 8:30-11:30
We only open every 2nd Saturday
House calls
We endeavour to provide a house call service to our frail/elderly patients who are unable to come into our rooms, although we prefer to assess patients in our rooms where we have better facilities for diagnosis and treatment. Please phone as early as possible in the day (by 11am) for urgent home visit requests, and non-urgent visits may be booked 2-3 days in advance.
After hours
The practice keeps business hours only. Should you require a doctor after hours or have an emergency, please make use of the 24-hour Emergency Units at Constantiaberg in Plumstead, Melomed Hospital in Tokai, Claremont Hospital on Wilderness Road or any of the state hospitals ie False Bay or Victoria Hospital. Alternatively contact your medical aid/ambulance service for paramedic and ambulance services.
